About Me

Christianna Cannon

My name is Christianna Rose Cannon. I'm a 27 year old Florida native with an appreciation for sarcasm and bacon. I listen to vast amounts of music of various genres, although the majority is metal and classic rock, followed closely by darkwave and aggrotech.

I've been drawing for as long as I can remember. I think the very first thing I used was an orange marker, but I've since progressed beyond that stage.

I write, too. While I was in high school and college I wrote a lot of poetry, but I haven't done so in a few years. Now I work endlessly on various fiction projects that I hope one day to have finished enough to at least show to anyone. I do have some complete short stories, also from the high school era, but I'm not sure where they are right now. I'd like to find them and see if they're any good. I remember liking them at the time, but that was 10 or so years ago.

I've been published in various magazines starting when I was 9, first with my Ally Alligator comic strips, in which Ally teaches his friends about environmental issues in the now-defunct Tropical Trails, followed by cover art on two occasions for international magazine Tropical Fruit News which is distributed in 50 countries (and in which Ally Alligator also made quite a few appearances). More recently, I have written a book review for The Pet Planet Magazine. I think I've done more over the years but I honestly can't remember. Drawing and writing have been a part of my life for so long that I can't keep track of everything, and I was published at such a young age that I completely missed the significance of it as an accomplishment at the time, so now I don't even remember it all. I wish I did.

My early start feels both awesome and intimidating to me. Awesome because I can now recognize that it was a pretty sweet achievement being published internationally before I was out of middle school, and intimidating because I have given myself big shoes to fill and I am an extremely harsh critic of my own work and career. Hopefully I can live up to my own expectations.

Both my artwork and writing tend toward darker subjects, in case you have not yet realized.

I also write HTML and CSS, and I'm planning to get certified soon. I design web sites professionally on a freelance basis, and enjoy doing it. When I'm not occupied with any of the above, I work at Michael's Arts and Crafts.
